Behind the Mama Stamp

Behind the Mama Stamp

What I want to start off with is: the Mama Stamp is for every type of Mama out there. Plain and simple. Every mother is faced with shaming, judging or assumptions at some point. This. Has. To. Stop.

The “Mommy Guilt” we feel because we do not live up to our own expectations, wondering if you are “doing it right” or
“failing miserably” at Motherhood is hard enough. Other mamas bringing you down makes it worse.

Why must we add in the shaming, judging and assumptions? This is not an accusation article, I’m guilty of it too. As women we are our biggest critics. This practice magnifies once we enter motherhood. The first reaction most of us have when we see another mother doing “something wrong” or “what you would never do” is to judge, assume or tell them they are screwing up. For what? To feel better about yourself to sleep at night? To quiet that LOUD screaming voice in your head that you are doing everything wrong and if you put another mother down you will feel better for a few minutes?

Let me tell you, that voice never stops. The more you feed it… the stronger it becomes... the more it consumes you. As a mother with many skeletons in her closet I can tell you no amount of judgement or Mama-shaming can make you feel better. It never will.

THIS IS WHY THE MAMA STAMP EXISTS. To show that as mamas we are all unique and different with our own voice AND that is OK. In fact, it makes us stronger. We can be who we are in Motherhood and need to accept other mothers as they are too. We are women trying to conceive, women who have their child(ren), women who are angel mamas, women who are step mamas, and all other type Mama out there.

As mamas, as women, we NEED to uplift each other and empower one another to make it on our journeys through Motherhood. Without a shoulder to lean on, to cry on, a confidant to share the guilt with or a friend to ask honest advice from: we are broken and alone. It is through our friendships with other women that we feel comfortable and inspired to be exactly who we are.

Join the Mama Stamp Movement:

Let’s end the shaming, judging and assumption together! As mothers we have our own unique journey and story. This makes us truly beautiful. There are many stages of Motherhood; whether you are trying to conceive, are an angel Mama, step Mama, have child(ren), suffered a loss and every other type of Mama, we are ALL in this together.

The “MAMA Stamp” is a symbolic way of standing up against the assumptions, judgments and shaming we each face in Motherhood. It’s a way of showing that it’s OK to be more than just a Mama, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed and not put together everyday… we all are imperfect but do the best we can every day.

Join us today and show your support by submitting a photo HERE. We will place the “MAMA Stamp” on your photo and feature you, showing your support to stand up and speak out. Showing that you want to make an effort to help support and uplift fellow mamas on their journey through Motherhood.

Thank you to everyone who has already joined us for the MAMA Stamp and I look forward to seeing the submissions from those who support it!
